Mabel D. "Mickie" Gaugler

Mabel "Mickie" D. (Schell) Gaugler, 89, of Pottstown, wife of the late Herbert A. Gaugler, passed away Tuesday March 4, 2025, at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown. Born in Washington Twp. Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine (Diehl) Schell. Mickie enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and going on treasure hunt walks with her grandchildren. She loved to travel and went on many bus trips traveling with her bus gang through Klein Bus visiting many states and going to dinner theaters. She also loved going to the beach and the Poconos with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her trips to Shady Maple, calling it her mini vacation. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family whether they were swimming in the pool, enjoying pizza on the patio or just sitting on the sunporch catching up on life. Her ability to just listen will be missed by all who love her. Surviving is her children Penny Thompson wife of James, Carmen Coccie, Patricia Greig wife of David, Mark Gaugler husband of Dawn, and Holly Ruppert wife of Richard; grandchildren Deanna Crites, Richard Crites, Robert Mathias Jr, Ashley Illick, Brandon Mathias, Melonie Gaugler, Bradley Gaugler, and Tyler Mathias; great grandchildren Skylar, Riley, Dominic, Luke, and Cheyenne. In addition, Mabel is survived by her stepchildren Diane Lightcap widow of George, Joanne Fitzcharles wife of Glenn, David Gaugler, Cindy Young wife of Ron, 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 19 great, great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Richard Schell, Bonnie Strunk, Patricia Strunk and granddaughter Veronica Fitzcharles. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Burial will follow at New Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00-10:45 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mabel's memory to New Hanover Lutheran Church, 2941 Lutheran Rd., Gilbertsville, PA 19525
