Madelyn Darlene Brunk

Madelyn Darlene (Alderfer) Simpson-Brunk, 77, of Lansdale, PA; formerly of Telford, PA passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Gwynedd Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Madelyn was the loving wife of Gerald David Brunk for 12 years. She was born in Sellersville, PA to the late John M. Alderfer and the late Madelyn (Freed) Alderfer. Madelyn graduated from Pennridge High School in Perkasie, PA, class of 1965. She worked as a secretary for the former Happy Viking in Hatfield, PA. She was then employed as a secretary for United Security Assurance Company of Pennsylvania in Souderton, PA. Madelyn volunteered at Grand View Hospital for many years. She attended Living Faith Fellowship in Souderton, PA. Madelyn loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an accomplished typist as a result of being a secretary. She also was great at short hand messages. She enjoyed word search puzzles, reading, latch hook, and was great baseball pitcher. Madelyn was a caring and loving woman who had a great sense of humor. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa R. Smith & husband, Larry of Telford, PA; her son, Keith Simpson & wife, Ann of Souderton, PA; her five grandchildren – Nicholas, Danielle, & LJ Smith and Sebastyen & Harmony Simpson; her two great-grandchildren – Aurora & Lena Smith; and her brother, Lee Alderfer of Long Beach, CA. In addition to her parents, Madelyn was preceded in death by her two brothers, Dennis & Larry Alderfer. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
