Margaret Good Obituary
Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" (Gahman) Good, 85, of Telford, PA; formerly of Blooming Glen, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Grand View Hospital. Betty was the loving wife of the late LaVerne L. Good for 37 years. She was born in Sellersville, PA to the late Melvin H. Gahman and the late Hannah L. (Detweiler) Gahman. Betty graduated from Christopher Dock Mennonite High School, class of 1957. She worked as a switchboard operator for the former Nyce's Saw Mill in Doylestown, PA. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She then worked as a cashier and receptionist for the former Estate of George S. Snyder in Hatfield, PA. She lastly worked as a secretary for Train Control Systems in Blooming Glen, PA. She was a lifetime member of the Doylestown Mennonite Church where she served in the children's ministry, the prayer ministry, and played the piano. She also served as a prayer partner for young adults. Since 2021, she was an attendee of Living Hope Community Church in Dublin, PA. Betty's family was very important to her. She loved spending time gardening, sewing, knitting, and making music with them. Family camping trips to Spruce Lake Retreat for the 4th of July were an annual highlight, and she found comfort reading her Bible next to the waterfalls. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed canning, genealogy, math, and sending cards to family and friends. Betty was a detailed, focused, compassionate, witty woman who had a good sense of humor. She is survived by her six children: Paul D. Good & wife, Mary of Quakertown, PA, James D. Good & wife, Karen of New Cumberland, PA, John S. Good & wife, Nancy of Blooming Glen, PA, Elizabeth "Joy" Reinford & husband, Randall "Randy" of Sellersville, PA, Melodie A. Yaw & husband, Thomas "Tom" of New Holland, PA, and Joel L. Good of Quakertown, PA. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, her 18 great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Doris Gahman of Bally, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Earl M. Gahman, and her great-grandson, Amos R. Good. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm at Doylestown Mennonite Church, 590 N Broad St, Doylestown, PA 18901, followed by the interment. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Swamp Mennonite Church, 2125 Rosedale Rd. Quakertown, PA. The service will be livestreamed. Burial will take place at Doylestown Mennonite Cemetery.
