Mary E. Brezina

Mary E. Brezina (nee Givnish) of Lansdale and a former resident of St. Mary's Villas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 28, 2025. She was 86 years old. Born March 23, 1939 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary Ellen (nee Moore) Givnish, and the wife of Dennis Brezina, with whom she shared 15 years of marriage. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy High School, Class of 1957, and received her Bachelors of Arts in Speech, Drama & Sociology from Chestnut Hill College in 1961. Meg went on to obtain a Master of Arts in Humanities degree from Beaver College in 1981 and a PHD in Philosophy and Psychodrama from Summit University in 1988. She was the founder and President of Problem Solving Theatre Associates, and an author and producer of numerous articles, video presentations and TV shows. She received and Emmy Award for writing, directing & narrating a WPHL-TV Special; "what will we do about Momma?" Known as Dr. Meg or Grammy, she was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan always wearing her Philly garb and cheering on the Phillies or Eagles. She loved tending to her plants and collecting shells and beach glass from the Jersey Shore and Maine. Most importantly, she adored the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandson. In addition to her husband Dennis, Mary is survived by her daughter Maeghan Goldner and husband Gregory, three grandchildren; Maeghan E. Goldner, Gregory M. Goldner (Lakin), and Kelley F. Goldner, her great grandson Tristan and sister-in-law Patricia Givnish. She was preceded in death by her brother Edward A. Givnish, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Mary's Life Celebration on Thursday June 12, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Chapel at St. Mary's Manor, 701 Lansdale Ave. in Lansdale. Her Memorial Mass will begin at 11 AM at the chapel. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Family services are by Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 610-277-7000.
