Mary Hoherchak Obituary

Mary Patricia Hoherchak, affectionately known as Patty to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at home in Jim Thorpe. Born in Palmerton, PA, May 8, 1955 to James and Catherine (Campbell) Creedon, Patty was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her, embodying the very essence of a life well-lived. Patty was a proud graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Class of 1973, where she formed many lifelong friendships and memories. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a career in nursing, earning her LPN and dedicating many years of service at the former Switch Back Medical Center in Jim Thorpe. Patty's compassionate nature and warm smile were a comfort to countless patients and colleagues throughout her esteemed nursing career. Family was the cornerstone of Patty's life. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Michael, and a loving mother to her daughter, Erin Kennedy, of Jim Thorpe and a son Michael Hoherchak III of St. Augustine, FL. Patty's joy was multiplied with the arrival of her granddaughter, Sadie O'Donnell, with whom she shared an extra special bond and countless cherished moments. Patty's love extended to her siblings, Kathleen Kuzo, Bonnie McElmoyle, Anne Louise Larizzo, all of Jim Thorpe, and her brother Paul Creedon and his wife Christina of Ridgewood, NJ. Patty also had many nieces and nephews with whom she will be warmly remembered. She was predeceased by her brother Baby James, who held a dear place in her heart. Patty's zest for life was evident in her many interests. She found solace in the beauty of nature, often taking walks to appreciate the simple wonders of the world around her. Her sense of humor was infectious, and her laughter could light up a room. Patty was a source of strength and inspiration, always ready with a funny story or a thoughtful gesture to brighten someone's day. Those who knew Patty will remember her as a loving and thoughtful individual. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special and valued. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will continue to be a guiding force for all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Patty's legacy is one of love, laughter, and selfless care for others. Her spirit will live on through the many lives she touched, both personally and professionally. As we say goodbye to Patty, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she has left on this world. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Patty Hoherchak will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were graced by her presence. Her laughter, her love, and her legacy will never be forgotten. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday May 8, 2025 at 11am in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe. I started my career in nursing working professionally with Patty at GHMH and seeing her as a nurse at Switchback Medical Center where she continued her nursing career. Patty was caring and offered compassion to all. RIP Patty, the memory of you will live on.
