Mary Louise Kachel

Mary Louise Kachel, 79, of Blandon, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in the care of Reading Hospital. Her loved ones are saddened by her sudden passing. Mary was born July 28, 1946. She was the loving wife of John H. Kachel Sr., who passed away on October 11, 1997, and a devoted daughter of the late Virginia C. Snellbaker. She was raised by her late grandmother, Mary A. Wawrzyniak. Mary was born in Reading, PA and graduated from Central Catholic High School. She later moved to Blandon, PA, where she resided for 50 years. For 30 years, she delivered newspapers for the Reading Eagle. She is a member of Holy Guardian Angels Parish, Hyde Park. An immensely compassionate person, Mary was a selfless, loving mother and wonderful friend. She raised her daughters, with her latter daughter raised throughout the later portion of her life. Mary's greatest joy came from raising her children, traveling with her late husband, watching her grandchildren grow up, and caring for all her pets. She was lively, a great talker and sincere listener. She enjoyed dancing, listening to Elvis Presley, and spending time outdoors. Homemade gifts, red roses and chocolate, particularly dark chocolate covered cherries, could always be counted on to brighten her day. She is fondly remembered for her ability to find the good in each day, her love for making every holiday and birthday special for others, and her resilience overcoming life's hurdles. Since the passing of her late husband, John, she always looked forward to the day they would be reunited. A warm, golden light shined on her for 4 days preceding her passing, where her beauty knew no bounds, as she transitioned to seeing her deeply missed husband to dance together, forever. Left to treasure Mary's memory are her children, Pamela Marie Lisa, fiancé of Justin, and Gina Marie, wife of Mark Seiger. Forever cherished by her grandchildren, Clarissa and Andrew Yerger, and great-grandchildren, Christian and Augustine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 12:00 noon. at Holy Guardian Angels Parish, 3121 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605, with burial to follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
