Maryann Hulsizer Obituary
Maryann Adaline Hulsizer, 91, of Kunkletown, passed away Thursday, December 12, at Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home, Kunkletown.
She was the loving wife of the late Wayne Charles Hulsizer. They celebrated 33 years of marriage together before his passing in 1991.
Born on November 18, 1933, at home in Saylorsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ernest H. Bittenbender and the late Estella L. (Shoemaker) Smith.
Maryann attended the Mackes one room schoolhouse thru 8th grade in lower Saylorsburg and graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1951. She later worked as a bookkeeper at Ronson Corporation in East Stroudsburg and worked as a seamstress at Lemar Fashions in Sciota for twenty three years. Maryann also worked as a care giver for Beck-n-Call Agency. She took a lot of pride in providing quality care and support for her clients that she worked for throughout her time there. She was a member of Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, Stroudsburg.
Maryann enjoyed sewing, crafting, and making quilts. She and her husband always enjoyed camping and traveling with their gang of friends and cousins. She loved attending sporting events and activities for her children and grandchildren. She was also a Cub Scout den leader and a Girl Scout assistant leader. Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.
She is survived by two sons, Eric Hulsizer and his wife Diana of Tampa, FL, Kevin Hulsizer and his wife Kathy of Reeders; a daughter, Lisa Altemose and her husband Dennis of Gilbert; three grandchildren, Travis Hulsizer of Tampa, FL, Quinn Hulsizer and his wife Krista of Stroudsburg, Zachary Altemose of Gilbert; and several nieces, nephews, and lots of "Shoemaker" cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Deiter, and two brothers, Clair Bittenbender and Richard "Dick" Bittenbender.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 17, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jason Vanderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Eaton Cemetery, Saylorsburg.

The family would like to thank mom's care givers, Linda Monaco and Cheryl Nicholas for taking care of their mom. The family would also like to thank St. Luke's Hospice and the staff and residents of Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home for providing care, love, and support for Maryann.
