Noreen Purcell

Noreen Townsend Purcell, 87, Hamilton Township, passed away Sunday, afternoon August 10, 2025 while under hospice care in Allentown. She was the wife of the late William E. Purcell with whom she share 45 years of marriage at the time of his death on December 23, 2010. Born December 8, 1937 in Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Ruth (Brush) Townsend and had been a long time resident of Monroe County. Noreen was a daughter, mother and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by three daughters, Michelle Purcell, Karen York and Rose Marie Brophy and a grandson, Morris Swartwood. Services will be held on Friday, August 15th, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with visitation beginning at 1:00pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Elizabeth Koerner officiating. Private cremation took place at the H. G. Smith Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances may be made to A.W.S.O.M or VALOR Clinic.
