Norma Mattia Obituary

Obituary of Norma P. Mattia Norma P. Mattia, age 93, of Aston, PA passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Noe and Viola (DeAngelis) Maggetti. She will always be remembered for the love she had for her family, especially her children and grandchildren, her laughter and ability to make others laugh, her quick wit and way with words, her readiness to go, always as the "Lucy" in tandem with an often unsuspecting but accommodating "Ethel", her penchant for and unsurpassed ability to return things, and always welcoming family and friends to exceptional meals (even though she always said she disliked cooking) and gatherings at home. Norma has been living in Aston for 27 years, formerly of the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. She was a member of St. John Fisher RC Church in Boothwyn. Prior to her retirement, she worked for over 20 years as a Ward Clerk at Lankenau Hospital, where she was celebrated by all for her knowledge, candid demeanor, and camaraderie. She was the wife of the late Richard Mattia, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. She is survived by two sons, Richard M. Mattia (Maureen Gartland) and David (Kathy) Mattia; daughter, Virginia (Matt) Manzi; sister in-law, Janice Maggetti; and five grandchildren, Leanne, Julia, Alexis, Matthew and Gianna. Along with her husband and parents, Norma was preceded in death by three brothers, Carlo, Robert and Richard Maggetti and grandson, Robert Mattia. Services and interment will be private. Arrangements by Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA, (610) 828-0330
