Patricia Ferketich Obituary

Patricia A. Ferketich, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at the Souderton Mennonite Home on February 7, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Green Lane, to the late Samuel Baxter and Emma (Wardle) Walter, Patricia's life was a testament to resilience and love.

Patricia was a 1956 graduate of Upper Perk High School, and she later furthered her education by earning an Associate's Degree in Computer Programming from Montgomery County Community College. Her career as a computer programmer in banking spanned many years, during which she made important contributions until her well-deserved retirement.

Patricia shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with Emil R. Ferketich until his passing in January 2011. Together, they cherished countless moments, especially at their beloved home on the Susquehanna River in Mehoopany, where lasting family memories were made.

Family was her focus, and she loved being a mother to her daughters, Emily and Amy. Nothing brought Patricia more happiness than spending time with her granddaughters, Lauren and Madeleine. She lovingly babysat for them when they were younger, meeting them at the bus stop each day and spending time with them and helping with homework. The joys brought by family extended even further with the birth of her great-granddaughter, Marin.

A member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale, Patricia found solace and strength through her faith. She enjoyed simple pleasures, like solving crossword puzzles, watching British TV shows, and cheering on her favorite college football team, Ohio State. Patricia could be counted on to make some of her special recipes for family gatherings and parties, which could never be replicated no matter how hard anyone tried. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and had a special place in her heart for the pet cats that gave her comfort and companionship throughout her life.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Emily Sellers (fiancée Carlos Tres), and Amy Ferketich (Mario Peruggia); granddaughters, Lauren Howell (Arthur) and Madeleine Dillon (Shane); great-granddaughter, Marin Howell; son-in-law, Michael Sellers; sister, Bonnie Christman-Krick; and brother, Curt Walter, Jr. (Mary). She is predeceased by sisters, Betty Butterwick and Audrey Shermer-Schueck.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 followed by a private burial following in Frieden's Union Cemetery. A viewing will take place prior to the service beginning at 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Souderton Mennonite Home in recognition of the excellent care she received during her 6-month stay. Contributions can be mailed to 207 W Summit St, Souderton, PA 18964 and include Benevolent Fund in the check memo.
