Peggy Silks

Peggy Silks (nee O'Neill) of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Monday March 10, 2025. She was 87 years old. Born December 21, 1937 in Norristown, PA. She was the daughter of the late James and Florence (nee Cook) O'Neill and the wife of the late Gerald Silks. Peggy was a graduate of Eisenhower High School in Norristown, PA. Peggy was an Office Manager of Electronic Sensing Company for many year until she retired. She also was a bartender at a local establishment in Montgomery County. Peggy was a classy, outgoing, fun, witty woman who enjoyed her Norristown social clubs: Maenner-Chor Club, The Orioles and Eagles Club. She loved music, bands and loved to play the juke box, along with cornhole, horseshoes and venues held throughout the year. She had a passion for animals and was an avid donor to several animal charities. She loved holidays, life and family functions and was the life of the party and had a big heart for her sisters, relatives and friends. She was very giving and loved telling jokes, going to the beach and NJ boardwalk. Peggy attended All Saints Episcopal Church in Norristown. Peggy was born very energetic and was always on the go, going places, doing things and thinking about others, and told it like it was. Her passion for music was wide: Elvis, Oldies, Rock-n-Roll, dance music, country, Rod Stewart, blues, etc Peggy survives by her beloved sister Rosalie Stoos (the late Norman Stoos), and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Mabel Fehr (the late Don Fehr), along with her devoted late companion Carl Bates. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Peggy's Life Celebration on Friday March 21, from 11 AM to 11:50 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike. Her funeral service will begin at 12 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
