Peter Halada Obituary

Peter P. Halada, Jr., 67, formerly of West Princeton Avenue, Palmerton, PA, died peacefully on Saturday afternoon, February 15, 2025, in Easton. He was the owner, operator, mechanic, and machinist of Pep's Garage, Palmerton, for many years. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Peter P. "Pep" Sr., and Anna (Hartman) Halada. An avid dirt sprint car driver #11X, he was well-known for building motors, transmissions and steering boxes. Survivors: Surviving are a son, Peter P., III, and his wife Katie, of Lehighton. Stepsons, Jonathan Heydt of Palmerton, and Jerram Heydt of Jim Thorpe. Six grandchildren. Sister, Pamela M. wife of William Gothard of Lehighton. Brother, Guy "Butch" and wife Brenda Green of Lehighton. Nieces, nephews, and cousins. Former spouse, Jill (Evans) Halada of Walnutport. He was predeceased by a sister, Sheila Green. Call, 10:00a.m. - 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home. Interment, Towamensing Cemetery, Third Street and Fireline Road, Palmerton. Contributions: May be made in his memory to: E.M.M.R., Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, 100 Baltimore Road, York Springs, PA 17372.
