Raymond Weikel Obituary
Raymond M. Weikel, age 72, husband of Debra K. (Bechtel) Weikel, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 in Parkhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation. Born on December 31, 1952 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late Mildred (McNutt) and Robert L. Weikel.
Ray was a graduate of Spring-Ford High School and went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in business from West Chester University. He began his working career beside his father at Weikel's Toy and Sport Shop handling order fulfillment, then continued on to work at the Spring City Knitting for nine years. He would end his career working in the grocery industry in receiving and supply chain orders at Genuardi's.
Ray was a lifelong, faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Royersford, where he served on the church council, as a trustee, member of the choir where he often performed solos, and member of the mowing committee. He also played on the church softball and basketball team. Beyond the church, he was also an avid bowler volleyball player.
An outdoorsman, Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. A fan of Philadelphia sports, he especially liked watching his Phillies and Eagles. He enjoyed reading and cooking and was famous for his flavorful baked beans, even though he himself didn't like beans! His sense of humor, witty sarcasm, and constant huge grin will be missed by all who knew him. Most of all, his love for family ran deep and he cherished the time he spent with them.
In addition to his wife of 34 years, Ray is survived by three children, Timothy, husband of Brenda-Lee Weikel, Kellie, wife of Tyler Little, and Kyle Weikel; two grandchildren, Lucas and Lillyanah; one brother, Thomas, husband of Patricia Weikel; brothers-in-law, Donald, husband of Maxine Bechtel and Robert, husband of Judy Bechtel; several step-siblings; and a nephew, Thomas Jr. and a niece Karen.
