Richard Carr Obituary

Richard A. Carr, 96 of Allentown-Salisbury Twsp., PA passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at his home. Born August 23, 1929, in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Lester L. Carr and the late Sarah M. (Miller) Carr. He was the husband of the late Mary M. (Mihutz) Carr who passed away in 2005. Richard was last employed as a Certified Journeyman Safe Cracker with A & B Lock and Safe, Allentown, PA for the past 34 years working with his son Allen. Richard served his country as a SFC in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Allentown, PA where he enjoyed being a member of the Senior Choir for years. He is survived by his daughters, Nina L. wife of Darryl J. Borg of Cibolo, TX and Maria wife of Stephen Harrington of Arlington, MA, and son, Allen J. Carr and wife Heidi M. of Whitehall, PA, along with 7 grandchildren. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with his care and arrangements. Private future interment will be held in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spring City, PA. Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Thomas More R.C. Church Memorial fund, 1040 Flexer Avenue, Allentown, PA 18103. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.schislerfuneralhomes.com
