Richard G. Knerr

Richard George Knerr, 81 of Whitehall-Hokendauqua, PA, passed away on October 11, 2025, at his residence. Born August 2, 1944, in Northampton, PA. Richard was the son of the late George Knerr and the late Evelyn (Deisher) Knerr. Dick was the husband of Carol (Zimmerman) Knerr, with whom he shared 60 loving years of marriage. Dick graduated from Coplay High School, Class of 1962. He then got married and shortly after joined the United States Army. He served for 6 years before being honorably discharged in 1972, earning the rank of SP5. After military life, Dick graduated from LCCC with his electrician certificate and worked for PP&L for 46 years as a Designer Draftsman. He also ran his own business, Richard Knerr Electrical, on the side. Dick was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ - Mickleys and PP&L Le-Gen Retirement Club. In his free time, he enjoyed model trains, creating stained glass, and wood working, especially proud of the rocking horses he made for his grandchildren. Surviving along with his wife: daughters, Robin G. Anthony and husband Edward and Cindy A. Reichert and husband Brian both of Bethlehem, PA, sister, Barbara R. Hummel, brothers, Robert W. Knerr and wife Diane of Fleetwood, PA and George C. Knerr and wife Brenda of Palmerton, PA, and grandchildren: Jacob Anthony, Eliana Reichert, Elizabeth Anthony, and Angela Reichert. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton, PA 18067. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall, PA. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM up until the time of service.
