Richard Malburg Obituary

Richard P. Malburg, 100, of Upper Milford Twp., passed away peacefully Sept. 21, 2025 at Country Meadows of Allentown. He was the husband of the late Carolyn M. (Schreiber) Malburg, to whom he was married for 60 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Philip and Martha (Gramlich) Malburg. He honorably served his country as a medic in the Army during WWII. He was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star while serving in the Asiatic Pacific campaign and the Philippine Liberation in New Guinea and Luzon. Dick was a graduate of Perkiomen Prep School and Allentown Business School. He worked as a wholesale appliance salesman for Luckenbach and Johnson selling Philco products. Later he served as the tax collector for Upper Milford Twp. for 20 years. He was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was an advisor for Luther League, served on the cemetery board, and was active in establishing the endowment committee. Dick enjoyed working outside and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons and Scottish Rite Valley of Allentown. Dick is survived by his daughter, Jayne C. wife of Thomas A. Fogle; granddaughter, Kristyn J. Fogle wife of Kevin Wolbach; great grandsons, Liam and Maverik; sister-in-law, Margaret Malburg. He was predeceased by siblings, Martha Eisenhart, Robert Malburg, and Nancy Hilmer. A funeral service will be held on Fri., Sept. 26, 2025 at 12 Noon in Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5901 Kings Highway South, Zionsville. Visitation 10:30 to 12 Noon in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery or the Church Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 200 Old Zionsville, PA 18068.

A soldier from the greatest generation has passed away today. Richard, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow war veteran. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
