Richard Matthews Obituary

Frederick Richard Matthews, 93, was born June 19, 1931 in Lynton, UK. He was the oldest of four children born to Fred and Dorothy Matthews. He died on Saturday, June 14 at 8:25AM. Richard was predeceased by his twin sisters Pat (1985) and Peg (1989) and brother Peter (2024) and by his lovely wife of 44 years, Marion I. Matthews (1998). He leaves behind his 2nd wife, Rheta (Suhr) Matthews, and his adult off-spring from his marriage to Marion: his son David Richard Matthews, his wife Barbara and their two adult children, Alex and Rebecca; and his daughter Kristen Diane Siebenhuhner, her husband Thomas and their two sons, Andrew and Matthew. He was also blessed to have met his two Great-grandchildren, daughters of Andrew and Jaclyn Siebenhuhner, Adrian, aged 6 years and Nicole, aged 4 years. Richard worked as an engineer all of his business career ending up as a VP of Sales with Automatic Switch Company in Florham Park NJ. He was an avid member of service organizations most recently the Bethlehem Rotary Club. Richard lived a full and rewarding life. He traveled extensively experiencing the world through an artist's eye, sketching and painting what he saw. A celebration of his life will occur at his last home, Kirkland Village in Bethlehem, PA.
