Richard McCracken Obituary
Richard Charles McCracken, 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on August 9, 2025, at his home in Douglassville, PA. He was the beloved husband of Andrea A. (Homiak) McCracken, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
Born in Norristown, PA, on December 18, 1949, Richard was the son of the late Harold E. McCracken and Catherine M. (Zollers) McCracken.
Richard graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School in 1967 and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Business Accounting from Drexel University in 1974. While attending Drexel, he completed his co-op at AMETEK in Paoli, beginning what would become a lifelong career. He went on to dedicate 43 years of service there as a corporate accounting manager until his retirement in 2014-an achievement highlighted in an article titled "From Co-op to Retirement."
He loved trips to the horse races in Saratoga Springs, NY, and traveling-especially spending winters in Florida as a snowbird. His favorite beach was Orange Beach, Alabama, where he enjoyed many visits over the years. A passionate gardener, he took pride in growing vegetables and filling his flowerpots with colorful blooms, and in retirement, he enjoyed reading, always with a book nearby.
Most of all, Richard treasured time with his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and the love he shared with those closest to him. His family and friends will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
Richard is lovingly remembered by his wife, Andrea McCracken; his children, Tanya (Daniel) Seward, Nicole (Kevin) Barkman, Eric (Kelly) McCracken, Kelly (Daniel) Sides, and Karen Clemens; his grandchildren, Cailey, Seth, Daxton, Alexis, Kelsey, Joseph, Nicholas, Michael, Rebecca, Erin, and Scott; his great-grandchildren, Christian, Brayan, and Alivia; and his brothers, Edward McCracken and Thomas (Lina) McCracken. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Donna Homiak, Barry Homiak, Cindy and John Gawrys, and Janice McCracken, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Victoria McCracken, and his brother, Albert McCracken.
