Richard Shellenberger Obituary

Richard D. Shellenberger, Sr., 88, of Wyomissing, passed away Sunday, July 20th, at SouthEastern Veterans Center, Spring City, Chester County. Richard was born in Bethlehem on October 10, 1936, a son of the late Marion and Robert Shellenberger and was the husband of 43 years of Frances H. (Durst) Shellenberger, of Wyomissing. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman 3rd class. He was employed as a Can Maker at American National Can for 17 years retiring in 1992. Richard also worked at Disney World in Florida and as a bartender at the Red Barn in Allentown for 23 years. He was a volunteer for the Make A Wish Foundation. Richard is survived by his two daughters, Melanie Rickett, of Allentown; Tracy Wertman, of Allentown; two sons, Richard Shellenberger, of Allentown; Terrence Shellenberger, of Allentown and step daughter, Jennifer Fenstermaker, wife of Derise Matthew, of Conway, SC, sister Sandra Squires, of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by several grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Shellenberger. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 30th at 10:30 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Arrangements entrusted to John P.
