Richard T. Young

Richard T. Young, 81, of Orefield, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Jane A. (Hassler) Young, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Thomas and Josephine (Buskaritz) Young. He was a member of Holy Trinity R. C. Church, Egypt. After graduating from Dieruff High School in 1962, where he played football, he joined the National Guard, serving 6 years. His career began as a tool and die maker from 1964-1973 at McCord and later he worked at Mack Trucks (1973-1987), Mobile Chemical (1988-1994) and lastly as a truck driver for Kreilkamp Trucking (1995-2007). He was a member of the American Legion Post #576, Allentown. Mostly, he will be remembered for his love of his family, along with fishing and hunting. Survivors: wife Jane; son Richard A. and his wife Alisa of San Antonio, TX; daughters Michelle A., wife of Kevin Gombert of Allentown, Deborah A., wife of Sean Brogan of Coplay; brother Dennis of Allentown; 7 grandchildren, David, Katelyn, Nicholas, Ryan, Jessica, Ellison and Kirill; 3 great grandchildren Cameron, Logan and Olivia; as well as half siblings. Mass of Christian Burial: 12:30 PM, Tuesday, June 3 at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 4456 Main St, Whitehall. Calling hour will begin at 11:30 AM at the church.
