Robert Coccio Obituary

Robert A. Coccio Jr., 34, of Andreas, formerly of Summit Hill, passed away on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital. Born in Lehighton, he was the son of Robert A. Coccio Sr. of Andreas and Monica Akins and her husband Chris Henritzy (Pops) of Lansford. He was a graduate of Panther Valley High School, Class of 2009 and Marywood University, Class of 2013. While in the PA Army National Guard, Robert was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and currently held rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. He was working as the Maintenance Shop Manager for the U.S. Dept of Defense in Scranton. Robert was a deeply involved and dedicated member of the Veteran Suicide Prevention Program, and member of the American Legion. He was an avid hunter, loving the outdoors, especially with his best pup Dodge. Robert will be remembered most for his willingness to always help another, no matter the situation, and his devotion and love to his parents. Surviving along with his parents are his siblings, Christopher J. Haggard and his wife Lynsey and nephews Eli and Weston of New York, Sister, Emma Coccio of New Ringgold, and brother Anthony Coccio of Tamaqua; Stepbrother, Justin Bilka of Lehighton, grandparents James and Sherry Akins, KayAnn and Don Melochick, and Grandmother, Roberta Coccio, of Tamaqua. He also has many beloved Uncles, Aunts, and numerous cousins. Memorial Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Christ Evangelical Free Church, 2420 Blakeslee Blvd Drive West, Lehighton from 2-5 p.m. Interment with Military Honors at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Contributions, in Robert's memory may be made to the Veterans' Suicide Prevention Program.
