Robert Gaydos Obituary

Robert Glen Gaydos, affectionately known as Bob to friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, at the age of 76, in the caring surroundings of Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Born on August 24, 1949, in Bethlehem, PA, Bob was known for his gentle nature and willingness to help others. Bob grew up in the town of his birth, Bethlehem, and graduated from Liberty High School with the Class of 1967. After completing his education, he embarked on a career that would span over three decades. Bob was a proud steelworker at Bethlehem Steel, where he dedicated 35 years of service before his well-earned retirement. His commitment to his work was as steadfast as his loyalty to those he loved. As a younger man, Bob attended Notre Dame Catholic Church with his family. Though not a formal member later in life, he remained deeply religious and found peace with both his family and God. His faith was a quiet strength in his life, and he was known for his peaceful spirit and the kindness he extended to others. Bob enjoyed watching football and, like many in his family, rooted for the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent many of his years working on his cars and taking rides on his motorcycle, hobbies he truly enjoyed. Over the years, Bob made many friends who appreciated his easygoing nature, generous heart, and dependable friendship. He loved his family and was proud of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by a loving and devoted family, including his children: Victoria Gazzana and her husband, Tom of Nazareth, PA, and Robert Gaydos, Jr. of Bethlehem, PA. Also surviving are the mother of his children, Debbie Gaydos, with whom he remained close, and her sisters, Barbara and Kathy, who were also part of his extended family life. Bob's legacy continues through his granddaughter, Valerie Gaydos, and his great-granddaughter, Madison Selby, who brought him immense pride and joy. Bob's memory will also be cherished by his siblings: Richard J. Gaydos, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Niceville, FL; Deborah Panik and her husband Larry of Bally, PA; Denise Sabol of Allentown, PA; and Roger Gaydos and his wife Michelle of Daniellesville, PA. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews. Each of them will hold dear the memories of a brother, uncle, or friend who was there with a listening ear, a word of advice, or a shared moment of laughter. Bob will be remembered for his kindness, his steady presence, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Services: A private wake will be held for the immediate family. Bob's services have been entrusted to Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. My brother and I will miss our father dearly. We went through so much together as a family and always made it a priority to stay united-with the love and presence of our mother as part of that bond. While our hearts are heavy with sadness, we take comfort in knowing that our dad is no longer suffering. He is now at peace, reunited with his parents and loved ones, and in the presence of God.

Worked at beth. Steel with gaydor, as we would call him. Never got angry and never cursed, a rare trait. A good friend and always a pleasure to be with.
We spent many times at the peacock hotel bar.

In Loving Memory
o life isn't always on a straight line, Sometimes bumpy, unequal, or out of time.
o Our bodies sometimes broken and shattered, But having faith is more than what mattered!
o Our brother gone... not forgotten, His lifelong struggle not in vain.
o Towards the end, strengthened in love, Knowing relief came from heaven above.
o We do not judge, whether good or bad - To say we love you, Bob, makes us all glad!
Goodbye, and God bless you, my brother.
Say hi to Jesus - and our dear mother and dad.
