Robert "Bob" Deeg Hosterman, 92, of Lansdale, PA; formerly of Harleysville, PA & Telford, PA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Elm Terrace Gardens. Bob was the loving husband of the late Dorothy (Frings) Hosterman for 59 years. He was born in Lancaster, PA to the late George M. Hosterman and the late Charlotte (Deeg) Hosterman. Bob graduated from Haverford High School in Havertown, PA, class of 1950. He then graduated from The Pennsylvania State University (PSU) in University Park, PA, class of 1954, with a bachelor's degree in physical education. Following graduation, Bob served as a medic in the United States Army during the Korean War. He then worked as a program director for the YMCA in Reading, PA. He was employed as a sales representative for Merck & Co., Inc., West Point, PA for 28 years, before retiring as an executive professional representative. Bob was a longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Telford where he was a former consistory president, VBS volunteer, and served on various committees. He and his wife also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity in various locations throughout the country. Bob was a fraternity brother of Pi Kappa Alpha, Beta Alpha Chapter at PSU. He was a member and former president and coach of the Upper Bucks Soccer Association. In retirement, he was a volunteer for SCORE in Bucks and Montgomery County. In his younger years, Bob was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and had a deep connection to Camp Delmont (now known as Musser Scout Reservation) in Green Lane, PA. In 1980, he won a state championship with his daughter's under 12 girl's soccer team. Alongside his wife, they enjoyed traveling both nationally and internationally visiting over 30 countries. Bob loved spending time with his family, especially creating arts and crafts and skiing with the grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing, and hunting. He believed in fitness for life and continued exercising everyday well into his 80's. He loved dogs and enjoyed model railroading, working around the house, and reading the newspaper. He was a devoted Penn State fan and could be found on Saturday afternoon in the fall watching Penn State Football. Bob was a selfless, kind, compassionate, fair, inclusive, fearless, well-composed man who had an infectious smile and a dry sense of humor. He is survived by his two sons, John R. Hosterman & wife, Holly of Harleysville, PA, Mark A. Hosterman & wife, Jennifer of Harleysville, PA; his daughter, Katherine "Kate" H. Tobias & husband, David of Souderton, PA; his eight grandchildren, Brent C. Hosterman & wife, Shelby of Charleston, SC, Trevor A. Hosterman & wife, Abby of Denver, CO, Jade M. Brown & husband, Nick of Pennsburg, PA, Chandler N. Moore & husband, John of Pittsburgh, PA, Jacob A. Hosterman of Harleysville, PA, Sumner M. Hosterman of Harleysville, PA, Hannah E. Hosterman of Harleysville, PA, Haley E. Tobias of Souderton, PA; his four great-grandchildren, Lucy M. Hosterman of Denver, CO, Wilder J. Hosterman of Denver, CO, Jackson C. Brown of Pennsburg, PA Valerie J. Moore of Pittsburgh, PA; and his brother, John "Pete" Hosterman & wife, Donna of Blairstown, NJ. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, George S. Hosterman. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am at Trinity United Church of Christ, 101 S.
