Robert G. Stuber

Robert George "Bob" Stuber, 87, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Phoebe Allentown. Bob was the husband of Shirley (Shellhammer) Stuber with whom he shared over 65 years of marriage. Born in Allentown he was the son of the late Frank and Hettie (Pedrick) Stuber. Robert was a graduate of the class of 1955 at Allentown High School. He served in the United States Marine Corp. Reserve. Robert worked for UGI, Exide Battery and retired from Apollo Metals in 2003 as a Materials specialist. Bob was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, and served on the Church Council of the former Church of the Manger in Bethlehem for 27 years, 7 years as president and sang on the church choir. He enjoyed preaching, animals and enjoyed photography as well as writing poetry. In addition to his wife, Shirley, Bob is survived by his daughter Deb Franssen, wife of Bob, of Millersville; grandchildren Sam Carrodo, husband of Jamie, of Allentown, Tony Carrodo, husband of Melissa, of Millersville, Bobby Franssen, husband of Kait, of Springfield, VA, and Jordan Franssen, husband of Heather, of Conestoga, PA. He will also be missed by 11 great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by brother Jim Stuber. Services will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2025, at 11 AM at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 W. Highland St. Allentown. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Allentown. A calling hour will begin at 10 AM.
