Robert Zuercher Obituary

Robert "Bob" F. Zuercher, 68, of Slatington, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025, with his loving wife by his side. Born on June 11, 1957, Bob was a devoted husband of 47 years to Helen (nee Muschko) Zuercher and an adoring father to his daughter Brooke (nee Zuercher) Coleman. A graduate of William Allen High School in Allentown, PA, and a student at Williamson College of the Trades in Media, PA, he was a carpenter and master craftsman. Gifted in all types of woodworking, Bob loved installing decorative molding and millwork, but found his true calling in building custom staircases. Specializing in the complex art of curved railing and stair systems, he particularly loved projects that were intricate and challenging. His work can be found all over the tri-state area, in all types of homes and businesses. From new construction to restorations, he enjoyed sharing his gift and happily served anyone ranging from independent homeowners to major home builders. In addition to his wife Helen and daughter Brooke, Bob is survived by his son-in-law Bill and grandson, Carter. Sister-in-Law Alice (nee Fisher) Zuercher, siblings Michael Zuercher wife Lynda, Cheryl (nee Zuercher) Adams husband Robert, and Kevin Zuercher wife Deanna, many nieces, nephews, great-nephews & niece, and a great-great-nephew, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. Bob was predeceased by his brother Richard Zuercher and parents Francis R. and Margaret J. (nee Schulter) Zuercher. A Calling Hour will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 9-11am at Stephens Funeral Home, 274 N. Krocks Rd. Allentown, PA 18106. A procession will immediately follow where a Christian service will take place at 12:00pm at the Church of the Mediator, 1620 W Turner St, Allentown, PA 18102. Bob was a lover of animals, so please consider a memorial contribution to the The Sanctuary at Haafsville, PO Box 921 Fogelsville, PA 18051.
