Roy Zimpfer Obituary

Roy Alan Zimpfer, 71, of East Allen Twp. died Sunday, January 12, 2025 at his residence. Roy was born in Allentown, PA on December 25, 1953 to the late Robert F. Sr. and June V. (Thatcher) Zimpfer. He served our country faithfully in the US Army during the Vietnam War as an Airborne Paratrooper. Roy was a handy man by trade. He ended his career Managing Lawn and Garden Department at Walmart with a great passion for flowers and plants. Roy was a true avid outdoors-man and was a minimalist. Roy is survived by his daughter: Heather Machemer of Hellertown, siblings: Michele L. Bean of Allentown, Wally C. (Stacy) of Hellertown, Renee S. (Roark) Gover of Northampton; 4 grandchildren: Cody and Casey Machemer, Elias and Oscar Zimpfer; Predeceased by son: Adam R. Zimpfer; two great granddaughters; brothers: Robert F. Jr., & Glen A. "Lump" Zimpfer. Private services with Military Honors will be at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown. To share an expression of sympathy with this family, please visit www.heintzelmancares.com. Roy was a great guy with a good sense of humor. If he liked you, you knew it, if he didn’t like you you knew it, he pulled no punches. He was also somebody that would have your back in tough situations, you could count on him. I worked with him for nine years, he was a good boss, and a good friend. I missed him when he retired, I will miss him more now. Condolences to his family.
