Russell W. Dieter III, 73, of Wind Gap, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 11, 2025, at his home. He was the beloved husband to Margarete Dieter to whom he was married 46 years.
Born in Bethlehem on February 19, 1952, Russell was the son of the late Russell W., Sr. and Lillian Dieter (Millheim).
Russell was a valued employee at Acopian Technical for 44 years. Even though he worked many hours he still found time for several other activities. He loved camping at the beaver dam and when he wasn't there participating in shenanigans, he had several other hobbies to keep himself busy. He was always tinkering with something such as making furniture for Margarete or working on his motorcycle. Russell had several other hobbies. He was very talented and artistic and loved to paint and make miniature towns and scenery for his Christmas train display. He loved to build and fly model airplanes which included crashing a few of them. He was an avid lover of all types of music, a pianist, the harmonica, and played the drums. He enjoyed his weekly card games with his buddies. Russell was the Commander of the Sons of the American Legion where he was a member of the firing squad. He also enjoyed the yearly golf tournaments with his buddies. He coached little league through Babe Ruth league baseball for many years. Russell will be deeply missed by his family and friends and his grandpups.
Along with his wife, Margarete, Russell will be dearly missed by his children, Russell W. Dieter IV and his fiancée Heather of Easton; Cheryl Knight and Connie of San Diego, CA,; grandchildren: Kristopfer, Derek, Taqiyyah, and Aminah; great-grandchildren: Tristen, Ethan, and Zoey; siblings, Randy Dieter of North Wales, Bonita Miklas and her spouse Terry of Bushkill Twp. as well as 5 nieces and many extended family members.
Services for Russell will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net.
Arrangements and cremation are under the care and direction of the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to The Center for Animal Health and Welfare The Center for Animal Health & Welfare ' Donate.

In 1974, just out of high school, I began my first job at Acopian. Out of all the different people & personalities that I met there, Russ quickly became my favorite person. I am now 68 years old & whenever I think back to that time, I always remember Russ & our similar sense of humor. Rest in peace my friend.
