Ruth Bird Obituary

Ruth L. Bird, 102, of Kutztown, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in her residence, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Albert Bird. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Blanche (Reese) Beltz. Ruth was a graduate of Allentown High School. She worked as an Intake Receptionist at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown for 15 years. Ruth was a former member of Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Allentown and was a member of several senior citizen's groups. Ruth was a self-taught, accomplished pianist and played well into her 90's. She loved swimming, gardening, traveling, playing BINGO and taking bus trips to the casinos. Ruth also enjoyed baking and was known for her carrot cake. Survivors: Daughter: Cynthia J. (Bird) Daubert of Kutztown; Grandchildren: Kelli (Daubert) Moyer and her husband Scott, Erin (McCarty) Light and her husband Jere, Katie (McCarty) Titano, Patrick McCarty and his wife Margaretta. Ruth is also survived by several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Richard C. Bird, her daughter, Nancy E. (Bird) McCarty and her sister, Viola (Beltz) Kramer, son-in-law, Keith E. Daubert. Services were held. Arrangements by Stephens Funeral Home, Inc. . Contributions: Please consider a donation in Ruth's name to the charity of your choice.
