Samuel Flick Obituary

Samuel A. Flick, 92, of Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at home with his loving wife Mary, by his side. His life tells a story of dedication, community, and family that spans generations.

Born on June 25, 1933, in Hosensack, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Granville and Annie (Mayer) Flick.

Sam grew up in Walnutport and was a graduate of Slatington High School, having completed his studies in the Class of 1950. His commitment to service was notable; he served his country honorably as a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he built a successful career, starting as a machinist at Mack Truck in Allentown, also worked at the Lehigh Valley Dairy, Allentown. In a remarkable position that showcased his entrepreneurial spirit, he owned and operated the Sam Flick Allstate Insurance Agency for over 38 years, on North 5th Street in Stroudsburg until his retirement in June 2000.

Beyond his professional achievements, Sam was characterized by his kindness and generosity; he was known as an integral part of the Arlington Diner family, embodying the warmth and camaraderie often found in local establishments. An avid bowler and Fisherman, Sam enjoyed many years of competition and friendship through the sport, which brought him immense joy.

Sam is survived by his wife Mary L. (Ogden)Flick, his son David Flick and daughter Donna Mueller, as well as his grandson Eric Mueller and his wife Megan, and many nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.

In remembrance, we also acknowledge his deceased family, including his granddaughter, Tara Mueller; sisters Hannah Carrigan, Hazel Kidd and Stella Scheirer; as well as his brother Norman Flick, all of whom have passed before him.

As per his wishes, he was donated to the Humanity Gifts Registry, Scranton, Pennsylvania
