Sandra Long

Sandra Long, age 64, of Slatington, PA, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in her home. She was born November 28, 1960, the only daughter of Dorothy and Norman Snyder. Sandy had many professions in her life. She worked in retail, sewing, printing, transport as a CDL Tractor Trailer Driver, and most recently, Special Education as an Instructional Assistant at the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21. There, she found working with children especially rewarding and made many friends. She also had numerous hobbies and interests. She enjoyed crocheting, painting, sewing, gardening, reading, cooking, and baking. Her creativity always led her to crafting the most beautiful gifts, trinkets, clothing, and projects. Her sense of nurturing was evident in not only the live plants and flowers she decorated her home with, but also how she cared for her pets throughout her life, including rabbits, freshwater and saltwater fish, cats, and dogs. Sandy was preceded in death by her father Norman Snyder; brother, Stuart Snyder; and first husband, Wayne Miller. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Snyder; husband, Robert Long; daughter, Stacy Santos; step daughter, Jenifer Rose-Lyn Heller; sons in law; Michael Santos and Cory Heller; grandsons, Andrew Grejda, Nolan Grejda, Logan Helm, and Cole Helm; and granddaughters, Yesenia (Nen) Rivera and Rachel Heller. She also leaves many other family members and dear friends who will sadly miss her. Sandy never liked being the center of attention and per her wishes there will be no services. All who wish to honor her life are encouraged to remember and celebrate the cherished moments shared with her
