Sarah Lambert Obituary

Sarah M. Lambert, 101, of Stroudsburg, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Bethlehem. She was the widow of Robert E. Lambert who died July 15, 2002. Born on February 3, 1924 at home in Delaware Water Gap she was a daughter of the late Johiel T. and Mae Etta (Arnst) Wallace and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. A 1942 graduate of Stroudsburg High School, she worked at Line Material during World War II, and then later at Ronson, A&P store, and Valerie Fashions. Sarah was active at the Loader Senior Center in East Stroudsburg, was part of the MCTA Shared Ride program, and was a teacher's aide at Arlington Elementary School. Surviving are a son, Robert J. Lambert and wife Maxine of Stroudsburg; two granddaughters, Holley Kearns and Alia Lambert; two great grandsons, Connor Kearns and Leo Gootblatt; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-grandson, Christopher Cardwell; four brothers, Lloyd Wallace, Russell Wallace, Kenneth Wallace and Mitchell Wallace; and two sisters, Eleanor Kunkle and Mary Boushell. A private family service will be held at the William H. Clark Funeral Home in Stroudsburg with burial in the family plot at Delaware Water Gap Cemetery.
