Stanley Roth Obituary

Stanley Harvey Roth, 82, of Schnecksville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025 in his home. Born in Ormrod, he was the eldest son of Stanley B. Roth and Eva (Zwarych) Roth. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Marilyn A. (Mummey) Roth. Stanley began his career at Lehigh Valley Dairy after graduating from Kutztown University. However, his true calling emerged when he discovered the joy of teaching and service to others. He dedicated himself to his students as a grade school teacher at Weisenberg Elementary School in the Northwestern Lehigh School District, where he forged a close bond with every classroom he touched. After 35 years of devoted service, he retired in 2002, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, inspiration, and unwavering commitment to education. A precocious instrumentalist, Stanley was a self-taught pianist, guitarist, and accordionist. Together with his wife Marilyn, he formed the band "The Good Life," where he played a supportive role to Marilyn, who dazzled as the lead vocalist. Stanley loved to entertain and was passionate about bringing happiness to the lives of others through his music and his generous spirit. Stanley carried the love of Jesus in his heart and dedicated much of his life to sharing that light with everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former colleagues, and all whose lives he touched with kindness and grace. Survivors: daughters, Cheryl (Roth) Semmel and her husband, Dennis of Salem, SC, Karen (Roth) Betancourt and husband, Jimmy of Schnecksville; grandchildren Austin Semmel and his wife, Morgan (Mummey) Semmel of West Point, NY, Brandon Semmel of Northampton; Monica Geist and her husband, Jarret of Schnecksville, and Isaiah Betancourt and his fiancé Ashley Dongvort of Schnecksville; great-grandchildren, June Alice Geist and Griffin Harvey Semmel; siblings, Sandra Green of Coplay, Shirley Mitchell of Coplay and Randy Roth and his wife, Joy of Coplay; companion, Donna Gregory. Service: A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Orchard Hills Church, 2096 Independent Road, Breinigsville. I am so very sorry to hear of Stanley( Buppy´s) passing. He was a kind hearted soul, a character, all in itself. ( in a good way)
I got to know him & Marilyn when I married into the family
( Cliff Roth) I heard them sing several times & went to dinner with the older generation ( parents) as well, on several occasions. I´m sure he found his cousin Cliffy & are reminiscing about the good old days. He truly will be missed.

Stanley gave so much and asked for nothing in return. He was always the life of the party and he brightened our lives. He lived life to the fullest, and had a quality of life right up to the end. We will miss him dearly, and offer our deepest sympathy to all who knew and loved him.

Stanley was a colleague, a friend, and a brother in Christ. For a number of years we were fourth grade “teaching teammates” along with Justine Snyder. Stan kept us laughing and made going to school an adventure! I have so many great memories from those years.

Karen and Cheryl, Scott and I are sorry we were unable be at your dad’s service today, as we were out of town. We send our sincere condolences to you and your family. Your father was so proud of you all. He spoke of you often, always with joy! Please know that we will also miss him and will never forget him. May God comfort and bless you ~ until we meet again!

I was a student of Mr. ROTH'S way back in the late 60's /early 70's. He taught me about recycling and the importance of it, which I put into practice till this day. His classroom is where I saw the first venus fly trap, which I thought was so neat and I still remember and enjoy search-a-word papers he used to print out. He had a great and lasting impact on my life and ♥ heart. He had a life well- lived to the glory of GOD.

My sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Roth. I had the privilege of having Mr. Roth as my 4th grade teacher. He was one of my absolute favorite teachers. I remember him singing and dancing in the classroom and he really knew how to light up a class room. Years later, I worked for the law office and he walked in and I couldn't believe he remembered me from all those years ago, both of our faces lit up with pure joy. It was great running into him and seeing him smile. There was always pure happiness in his smile. Even though he was trying to get me to sing lol may you rest in peace and sing wonderful songs and light up heaven next to all your loved ones up there. You will not be forgotten. ❤

Mr. Roth was my 4th grade teacher and really made a difference in my life. I was part of the last class of students he taught at Weisenberg Elementary. He ran his class like no other teacher I ever had; he had a system where you could earn points and use them to get things at his in school "store", which made his room unique. I will never forget the impact that he had on me.

Stan was a truly inspirational man. I had the pleasure of working with him at Weisenberg, and my son (class of 2009) had the privilege of being in Stan's last class he taught at the school. He made students feel special and helped them reach their full potential. But most of all, once you met him, you could never forget his radiant smile and loving, caring personality.

Jesus is smiling and so is Stanley! What a privilege to have known him and got to spend time with him. The most Godly man I knew. He was a prayer warrior partner with many of us. I can hear him saying, “smile, Jesus loves you and your beautiful.

I had the pleasure of working with Stan when I first moved to PA about 40 years ago. Being a Special Ed teacher, inclusion was a new idea. Stan welcomed my students with open arms. His kindness and generosity were inspiring. Stan always had a smile on his face, a song on his lips, and a kind word for everyone.
Back then on snow days, it was my job to call Stan if school was closed. You never knew if he got the message since he would be out before dawn shoveling! And it always seemed to be the day Marilyn was sending in cheesesteaks for the staff ( the best ever!).
My deepest sympathies to his family. Rest assured that Heaven truly has a new angel. I imagine Stan is already leading a choir of them in a sing along!
