Steven Alderfer Landes

Steven Alderfer Landes, 78, of Telford, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Edward Harold and Ethel (Alderfer) Landes. Steven was a 1966 graduate of Souderton Area High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he earned three Bronze Service Stars. He worked in sales throughout his career, including at Best Company, Ames Department Store, and, lastly, retiring from Home Depot in Hilltown. He very much enjoyed watching TV and the Food Network, Monday tuna salad and a burger at Lisa's Pizza in Telford, and a Scallop birthday dinner with his Family at The Rising Sun Inn. Kit Kat candy bars were his favorite occasional snack. Steve always carried a positive attitude, and every day for him was declared to be "Fabulous". Steve was a big fan of college football, enjoyed the NCAA men's basketball championship, and his favorite annual sporting event was watching the Masters Golf Tournament. Watching NFL football on Thanksgiving was a special tradition for him. Christmas with his immediate family held an important place in his heart and mind. As a grandson of the late local historian Henry Souder Landes, Steve was a proud lifetime resident of Souderton, Pennsylvania. He takes with him fond memories of Hillside Avenue, childhood Easter egg hunts with his dear mother, sunsets on the front porch with his father (Pop), his late pet dog Angel, and grocery shopping at Landis Market with his niece Sherri. Steven is survived by his sister-in-law, Jeanette S. Landes; nephew, Gregory S. Landes; niece, Sherri L. Landes; three great-nieces, Sarah E. Landes McCarter, Rebecca Lynn Landes Anthony, and Rachael Mae Landes Carreras; great-great nephew, Jason Edward Carreras; and great-great niece, Sophia Mae Carreras. Services for Steven were held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Telford VFW Post 5308, 395 W.
