Theresa R. Schurr

Theresa R. (Alexander) Schurr, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the age of 95 years. Theresa was born on March 1, 1930, in Royersford, Pennsylvania to the late Jennie (Carbo) and Joseph Alexander. Theresa was a lifelong resident of Royersford, and a faith filled member of Sacred Heart Parish. She was a role model for her family, and all who knew her, living her strong faith quietly and guiding others by her example. Theresa dedicated over 20 years of her career with Montgomery County Housing Authority as the office manager for 85 apartments at the Golden Age Manor in Royersford. She was the smiling face to greet seniors and was their go-to person to help them navigate any questions or problems as they began the next journey in their lives. The care and compassion she demonstrated daily was evident to the residents and their families. Throughout her life, Theresa was actively involved in attending concerts, sporting events, recitals, shows, and supporting family members in all their special activities with her presence. She was generous with her time, talent, and treasures. She enjoyed watching the Eagles, accompanying her sons on trips to Las Vegas, and visiting her favorite slot machines at Valley Forge. Her daily routine always included her prayer list, a crossword puzzle, phone calls with family members, and watching CNN. We were truly blessed that she remained healthy and alert and able to share her wisdom and grace with each of us. Theresa was the heart of a loving family. She married her high school sweetheart, John "Jack" R. Schurr, in 1950, and together they shared 57 years of marriage and loving memories while raising their family of 6 children. In remembering Theresa's life, we honor a generous and caring woman of faith, strength, compassion, and love. She will be forever in our hearts and we are forever blessed to have known her. Theresa is reunited with her late parents, Joseph and Jennie Alexander, her loving husband, Jack, her late son, Kent Schurr, and her late great-grandson Joshua Ditlow Yuan. She is survived by her devoted children Jacque (wife of Tony Ditlow), Theresa (wife of Karl Klaus), Kevin, Keith (husband of Roxanne Schurr), and Patricia (wife of Anthony Polini). Her legacy extends to the next generation as a loving "Nanny" to her 11 grandchildren: Kristin Ditlow Yuan, Kyle Klaus, Bruce Ditlow, Corey Klaus, Kari Klaus, Kelsey Ditlow, Blake Ditlow, Gabrielle Schurr Mikolosky, Alexandra Schurr Heacock, Chloe Klaus, and Karly Ditlow. She was also an adoring "Nanny" to 11 great-grandchildren: Jaden Landis, Jordyn Landis, Lainey Dowlatow, Ava Klaus, Bruce Ditlow, Stevie Mikolosky, Alexander Heacock, Callie Ditlow, Cameron Ditlow, Louie Mikolosky, and Eloise Heacock. Theresa is also remembered as the dear sister of her late siblings: Mary Pesta, Louis Alexander, John Alexander, Charles Alexander, Gene Alexander, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Sacred Heart Church, 838 Walnut Street, Royersford, PA 19468 at 10 AM. Officiating will be Reverend Tadeusz Gorka. Burial will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Family and friends will be received from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468, Thursday, September 11, 2025.
