Vickie Bruij

Vickie Bruij, 95, of Bethlehem, PA formerly of Toms River, NJ died peacefully Saturday, March 8, 2025 with her family by her side at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem, PA. She was the widow of Edward A. Bruij who died in 1992. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Angelina (Raffa) Spano. Vickie was a graduate of New Utrecht High School, Brooklyn, NY. Vickie co-owned two boutique businesses with her children. She worked with her son at the former Bee Lilly and with her daughter at the former Bay Ridge Leather both in Brooklyn, NY. She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed a game of Scrabble or Rummikub and played cards with a group of friends. She also loved to travel. Vickie had an eye for decoration. She was meticulous and stylish. She could have been an interior decorator. Her homes were always representative of her style and good taste. She was loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all. Survivors: Daughter, Darlene M. Bruij with whom she resided; son, Charles E. Bruij (Ann); grandchildren, Laura Williams (Frank), Michael Bruij; great grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Ella and Max all of Staten Island, NY. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Spano. Service: Graveside Service 11:00AM Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY.
