Virginia Drumm Bergey

Virginia Drumm Bergey, 81, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Walter Knipe Bergey and Marion Virginia Drumm. She dedicated 29 years of service to Merck & Co. retiring in 1996. Her work took her across the country inspecting blood banks. She later supervised in Quality Assurance. A devoted member of Gwynedd Friends Meeting, Ginny was known for her creativity, curiosity, and adventurous spirit. A passionate photographer, she showcased her diverse body of work at various local venues. She also had a love for travel and enthusiastically participated in and organized car rallies with friends. Ginny volunteered with the Hilltown Historical Society where she contributed her time reviewing and organizing historical documents. Never one to shy away from adventure, she went tandem hanging gliding at the Outer Banks and earned her pilot's license. She also enjoyed water volleyball and played basketball throughout her youth at Springfield High School, Montgomery County (1961), and Lebanon Valley College l965. After retirement, Ginny developed a keen interest in genealogy, tracing her family's roots and helping others do the same. She expressed her artistic talents through quilting, needle point, and designing handmade cards for special occasions. Ginny was especially fond of dogs and was also the go-to pet sitter for friends and neighbors. Surviving is her brother David Bergey (Linda), nephew Mark Bergey (Bridget) niece, Susan Detwiler (Justin) and much-loved great nephews and great nieces Jeffrey, Katie, Ryan, and Grace. A service celebrating Ginny's life will be held at Foulkeways 1120 Meetinghouse Road Gwynedd, on Saturday October 11 at 2 PM in the Community center auditorium. A time of fellowship will follow.
