W. Ruth Obituary
W. Terry "Bump" Ruth, 67, of Souderton, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, surrounded by his family at Grand View Hospital after multiple complications from scleroderma. He was the husband of Colleen (Detweiler) Ruth; they celebrated 45 years of marriage in June.
Born in Sellersville, he was the son of Geraldine (Gahman) Ruth and the late Carl H. Ruth. Terry was a graduate of Pennridge High School, class of 1977, and worked at Wheels Automotive LLC in Telford as an autobody technician, painter, and mechanic for over 35 years, also holding his inspection certification for many of those years.
He enjoyed hunting with his father in Centre County, and more recently with family in Benton, PA. He spent many weekends four-wheeling with extended family. They took many trips out of state to ride new trails, and each time he came home with great stories about each trip. Bump loved the good times that were had up "at the river." Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family-especially vacations at the beach, Disney World, an impromptu trip to Maine, and many day trips. Family vacations when Jenn was young were spent driving to Tennessee, Iowa, Massachusetts, and all the states in between. His most cherished time was spent in the backyard, around the fire ring with family and friends, or fixing a new toy to ride for his grandchildren. In between those activities, he could be found at Carter's baseball games, a flag football game for Kayla, or even Jenn's softball games. Watching an Eagles or Phillies game with Dylan was a good day. He could always count on a good Disney movie with Kayla, or ANY Sci-fi show to keep him entertained. Friday dinners at the Keystone diner with Colleen were a long-time tradition that they both treasured. Bump was known for always having a project or several underway. Some may remain unfinished, especially his beloved 1969 Camaro, but each reflected his passion, creativity, hands-on spirit, and tossing a tool or 2.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Jenn, and son-in-law, Dylan Lincoln; and his two cherished grandchildren, Kayla and Carter. He is also survived by extended family, including Dennis Moyer, Michael Padilla, Christopher Stupak, Doodle, the entire Siringhaus Family, and the Biehn Family.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 25, from 6-8 PM at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, 18969. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 26, at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 10-11 AM.
