Adelaide "Oma" Krueger

Beloved Mother and Grandmother Adelaide "Oma" (Diaz) Krueger, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 22, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Emil Krueger. Born on November 22, 1936, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Adelaide was the daughter of the late Basilio and Henrietta (Marcano) Diaz. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, not only to her grandchildren but to all who knew her. Funny, spicy, and always the diva, Oma loved to wear her beautiful long, dangling earrings. Some of her favorite days were spent at the Day-Break Senior Center, both in Waterbury and Plainville. She loved to crochet, work on crossword puzzles, and watch Family Feud. Oma was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and David Ortiz. Adelaide is survived by five daughters including Linda Krueger with whom she resided; her twelve grandchildren, including Jordan Gonzalez to whom she was especially close and Iris Rosado who she thought of fondly as a granddaughter. She also leaves several great-grandchildren including Roselyn Caban as well as several generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Jason Krueger. Calling hours for Adelaide will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 10:00am – 12:00noon with a service beginning at 12:00noon at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury.
