Alphonsine Bouchard Obituary

Alphonsine "AL" S. Bouchard, 67, a lifelong resident of Enfield, passed from her earthly journey on Sunday, July 27, 2025. She was born on September 5, 1957 in Springfield, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Louise (Albee) Bouchard. Al attended local grammar schools and was a graduate of Enrico Fermi H.S., Enfield. She went onto further her education as a Student Worker at Asnuntuck Community College, - honors society and a Phi Theta Kappa, Graduate, always going above and beyond her duties and regarded as exceptional in all areas of her work. She volunteered her time to the entertainment counsel and always offered her photography skills at the college. She was involved in many activities and -clubs. Prior to retiring, Alphonsine was the Co-Owner of the former All Appliance Inc, in Enfield for over 30 years. In college, her favorite class was photography- she loved her camera and developing film. Her two girls were her favorite 'favorite' models; as well as nature, birds, ocean waves and landscapes. She was an excellent photographer. All while being the best Mom she could be to her little girls, giving them love and stability growing up; along with an ocean get away each year with family and back yard BBQ's! Watching sports as a family are just a few things Alphonsine enjoyed. As a single Mom, she always mad sure their Dad (Lloyd) was in their lives; creating lasting memories, and strengthening family bonds with love. Her daughter Danielle referred to her as the "Coupon Queen" … loved saving money and always cut coupons to help save! Alphonsine always said her most valuable accomplishment was raisin her two girls; not work or play could dent that memory forever. She had many friends and kept them throughout her life. She was caring, fair, and loving to all. A beautiful person, inside and out. Her family wants to Thank her PCP/Cancer Doctor for the care and constant concern for her wellbeing. Thanks to Dr. Disha Mascarenha __ and her Surgeon & hospital staff. In addition thanks to some special FRIENDS for giving Alphonsine the time, energy and love she needed through out her ordeal, including her bus drivers and helpful cab people that drove her to and from Chemo and Dr.'s appointment. Thanks to all her longtime supportive friends; Tina Bray for the constant care and calls, Ann Marie for her sweet personality and care, Yvonne Gardner who has been a constant in her life always, sis!, Susan Battista her true sister and friend who made the time daily to call and be there always for her with her love & companionship, Catie and elementary school friend, who came from Boston to give her Reiki treatment, Barbara Oster, a friend forever from the college days, Tom someone she never forgot as sweet and kind, always, and many, many more – too numerous to mention. You know who you are and the family thanks you all! Alphonsine is survived by her loving daughter Danielle Trowbridge & son-in-law Juan Alcantera of Enfield, and son-in-law Michael Ruth of MA, her beloved grandchildren; Maritza, Teresa, and Angel Alcantara, her loving sister and friend Susan Battista of Hull, MA, Best Friend and Forever Sis Yvonne Gardner of Suffield, along with nieces and nephews; Nina and Andrew Battista, Leeanne Gardner Lawrence, Timothy Gardner and Neil Gardner. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved daughter and namesake Alphonsine Trowbridge Ruth (2021), and adored sister Celeste (Bouchard) Davidson. Relatives and friends may gather with her family on Monday, August 11, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
