Annette Baba Obituary

Annette (Sargis) Baba, 90, of Newington, wife of the late Sam Baba, passed away Tuesday (May 20, 2025) at her home. A New Britain native and former resident, she moved to Newington in 1963. She was daughter of the late Deacon David Sargis and Shushan (Adams) Sargis. Annette was a graduate of New Britain high school, class of 1953 and was a graduate of Bryant College in Rhode Island. Annette worked at the former Eastern Tool & Die and later was a part time secretary at the former Trinity United Methodist Church in New Britain. She was a member of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Church (St Thomas Church of the East) in New Britain. At the church she was active in planning dances, fundraisers and sang in the choir. Annette is survived by two sons, Steven Baba with whom she lived and Gregory Baba of New Britain. Besides her husband Sam, Annette was predeceased by her brother, Edward Sargis and several close cousins including Sam Sargis, Agnes Sargis, and Benjamin Sargis. Funeral services are Tuesday (May 27, 2025) 11 AM at St Thomas Assyrian Church of the East, 120 Cabot Street New Britain, CT 06051. Calling hours are Tuesday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Apostolic Catholic Church.
