Antonio Avallone Obituary
Antonio E. Avallone, 80, of Clinton, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on April 25th, 2025 with his family by his side at the VA Hospital in West Haven after a brief illness. He was the beloved son of the late Raffaele Angelo and Maria Gaetana LaSalla Avallone. Born in Palomonte, Italy, Antonio came to the United States with the hope of creating a better life, one built through hard work, love, and a deep devotion to family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, including a tour of duty during the Vietnam War. Antonio was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Pina, with whom he shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised a close-knit family filled with love, laughter, and endless support. He was a proud and loving father to Maria Zitto (Robert, deceased), Angelo Avallone (Michele), and Michelle Holden (Mike), and a cherished Poppy to Antonio, Mikayla, Nicholas, Danielle, Ashley, Alexis, and Jaxon. His family was the center of his world, and he was happiest when surrounded by them. Antonio is also survived by his loving siblings Giuseppina, Carmelo (Jean), Lucia, and Oreste (Carla). He is also survived by brothers- and sisters-in-law Connie, Maria, Louise (Pasquale), Anna (Pasquale), and Frances (Alphonse). Antonio was predeceased by his brother John, sister Erminia, and brothers-in law Paolo, Pasquale, Mario, Antonio, and Frank. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much and who held a special place in his heart. His bond with his brothers and sisters was strong, and their love and connection remained close throughout the years. After a lifetime of hard work, Antonio retired and enjoyed his time in Clinton, CT, surrounded by friends and family. Until we meet again, Dad, we'll toast you with your homemade wine and soppressata, just as you always did-surrounded by the love of family and friends. Your spirit will forever live in the memories we shared and the love you gave. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the VA doctors, nurses and staff for the outstanding care you provided to Antonio, as well as the support and compassion you showed to our entire family.
