Apolonia (Lucy) Csonka born October 26, 1939, an extraordinary woman whose life was a beacon of inspiration to many, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at her home in San Diego, California, with her cherished family by her side. Born in Poland, she embarked on a courageous journey to the United States, where she became a proud citizen and built a fulfilling life marked by hard work, compassion, and unwavering faith.
She spent the majority of her years in Connecticut, where she raised her family and pursued a dedicated career in the manufacturing industry before retiring. In her later years, she made San Diego her home, embracing the warmer climate that complemented her love for nature and gardening-passions that brought her immense joy and symbolized her nurturing spirit. Always eager to lend a hand, she found profound satisfaction in helping others, whether through acts of kindness in her community or sharing wisdom drawn from her deep belief in God.
Her family was the heart of her world; she treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with love and laughter. Her zest for life was infectious, inspiring those around her to appreciate the beauty of the natural world and the strength found in faith. Indeed, her belief in God was the cornerstone of her teachings, guiding her through life's challenges and serving as a profound example to all who knew her.
