Barbara Isabelle Obituary

WINSTED – Barbara Anne Isabelle, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at her home after a long illness. She was the loving wife of Charles Joseph Isabelle for 25 wonderful years. Born September 14, 1942 in Mineola, NY; the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Nielson) Smith. Barbara received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She worked for many years until retirement at Sikorsky Aircraft. She loved the ballet and for years was a talented ballet instructor in the Huntington Shelton area. Barbara was a skilled seamstress and often made her daughter's clothes, curtains and even her granddaughter's wedding coat. She also enjoyed quilting. In addition to her husband, she leaves her beloved daughter, Nancy Petruska and husband Thomas of VA; granddaughters, Natalie Ann Petruska of VA and Carolyn Marie Boles and husband Mason of KY; 5 great grandchildren; brother, George Smith of ME; and two nephews, Adin Smith and Brandon Smith. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Henry Smith. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
