Mrs. Barbara Ann (Cioto) Rinaldi of Watertown, formerly of Cassidy Avenue in Waterbury, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Tuesday October 7, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital comforted by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Angelo D. Rinaldi.
Barbara was born in Hartford, CT on August 17, 1940, daughter of the late James and Anna M. (Bottone) Cioto. Barbara grew up in Rocky Hill, but was a longtime resident of Waterbury after marrying the love of her life, Angelo. A night at a Catholic Young Adult Dance changed the lives of Angelo and Barbara forever, when the two of them met, resulting in a beautiful sixty-one years of marriage together. Love was put into everything she made in the kitchen, and was enjoyed by friends, family, as well as the community. Always enjoying a good game, Barbara loved playing bingo, enjoyed taking trips to the casino, and watching UConn Basketball and the Boston Red Sox.
Above everything else, nothing meant more to Barbara, affectionatly known as "Ommy" than her family, especially the special bond and exceptional relationship that she shared with her grandchildren. Not a day went by without one of her grandchildren visiting, calling, or texting their "Ommy", something that will always stay close to not only her heart, but the hearts of her grandchildren.
Besides her husband Angelo of Waterbury, Barbara leaves to honor and cherish her memory her daughter, Paula (Rinaldi) Saverino of Watertown, her son, Daniel Rinaldi and his significant other, Carol Barno of Rocky Hill, her two sisters, Marie Carbonero of Naples, FL and Nancy Coughlin and her husband Patrick of Wethersfield.
