Benjamin Rubackin Obituary

October 2, 1942 – July 10, 2025 Benjamin N. Rubackin, a devoted father, grandfather, and lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and Giants, passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Manhattan on October 2, 1942, Ben was raised in the Bronx and later lived in Yonkers before settling in Connecticut 20 years ago. Ben was a proud veteran of the United States Army and carried that sense of service and dedication throughout his life. He spent much of his career as a dedicated salesperson before transitioning to a role as a paraprofessional for the New York City Board of Education, where he found great joy working with students and being part of the school community. He had a deep love for the simple joys in life-classic music from the '50s and '60s, cheering on his favorite New York sports teams, and the companionship of his beloved dog Coco. Whether a song was playing, a game was on, or Coco was curled up nearby, Ben was in his element. His warmth and easygoing spirit made him a joy to be around. Ben was predeceased by his beloved wife Judy and his daughter Randi. He is survived by his daughter Fran Fonseca and her husband Peter, his son David Rubackin, and his cherished grandson Hunter Fonseca. His sense of humor, kindness, and the love he showed his family will be remembered always. A celebration of Ben's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor his memory.

My sincere condolences to the Rubackin family. I have worked with David for many years at Stews. I knew Ben and his wife and their dog for a long time. Ben was a true family man.
