Bronislawa Kowalczyk

Bronislawa Kowalczyk, 95 of New Britain, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, July 27, 2025 in Farmington. Born in Salowka, Poland, on May 6, 1930, daughter of the late Heronim and Aniela (Ilnicka) Michalewski. Bronislawa was a loving mother and grandmother, who raised her 3 years old child alone after the death of her husband Jan. She was always a hardworking lady but most of all helpful to others, supporting them in finding jobs and shelter. She was also an excellent cook, making the best pierogi and Polish food. Bronislawa was working for many years at Acme Monacco Spring. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by her son, Joseph Sozanski and his wife Iza of Plainville; her beloved grandchildren: Daniel and Julianna Sozanski of Plainville; her sisters: Janina Banach and Maria Wieczorek, both of New Britain and several nieces, nephews, friend and family members from the US and Poland. She was predeceased by her parents Hieronim and Aniela, her husband Jan Sozanski, her sisters: Michalina and Jozefa, and her brother, Jan. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 30 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Church, New Britain. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
