Bruce Kenneth MacLeod

Bruce Kenneth MacLeod, 82, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Barbara (Rich) MacLeod, died peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Bruce was born in Springfield, MA, son of the late William A. and Emily (Sinclair) MacLeod. He was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School and went on to study at Western New England University. Bruce married the love of his life, Barbara Rich on March 14, 1964. They lived in West Springfield, MA until 2001, moving to Chester, CT to run their new business, Castle Marina, and to South Windsor in 2017 upon retirement. Bruce began working for F.W. Stickles in Chicopee, MA, then became an entrepreneur, opening a machine shop along with a graphics business, Visual Communications. Following his lifelong passion for boating, he later went into boat repair, culminating with forming Castle Marina in Chester, CT, specializing in yacht repair and custom carpentry as well as managing a marina. He would go out of his way to help his loyal customers. Along with his wife of over 60 years, Barbara, he leaves his children, Kenneth S. MacLeod and his wife Dawn of Haddam, CT, William A. MacLeod and his wife Laurette of Brookfield, NH and Holly A. MacLeod (LaFontaine) of Western, MA; and his grandchildren, Ryan MacLeod, Michael MacLeod, Liam Bruce LaFontaine and Amelia Rose LaFontaine. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert S. MacLeod. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He will be dearly missed. His family will receive friends on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2-3 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 3 p.m., in the funeral home.
