Carol E. "DiDonato" Baxter

Carol Elaine Baxter, 73, of Enfield, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 22, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital. Born on December 25, 1951, in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Cesarina (Uberti) DiDonato and sister to the late Richard DiDonato. Carol grew up in the Federal Hill section of Providence surrounded by her Italian family and carried with her a deep appreciation for her heritage. She was known for her radiant smile, loyal spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. She loved to tell people that because she was born on Christmas, her parents named her Carol and that she was a "Christmas Carol". Carol is survived by her beloved daughter, who was also her best friend. She loved animals, especially giraffes, dogs and most of all cats. A woman of many interests, Carol enjoyed exploring antique and vintage shops, working on puzzles, listening to classic rock, playing volleyball, watching movies and loved getting invested in a good TV show. She didn't go a day without a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee, treasured her travels and vacations, and found joy in driving her convertible with the top down. For decades, she worked as the office manager for Baier Construction and considered them family. She was working for Aldrich Construction when she passed. Besides being survived by her daughter, Melanie (Baxter) Marshall, she is also survived by her son-in-law, Jonathan Marshall, who she loved like a son; her dearest friend, Dorota Chmielewska, who was like family; her niece Diane DiDonato and many other cherished friends. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT.
