Charlotte Simms Obituary

On July 30, 2025, Charlotte A. Simms, born December 31,1930 in Milford CT, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord. She worked for over 25 years as a Paraprofessional in the New Haven public school system. Charlotte was a longtime, faithful member of St. Paul UAME Church where she served as pianist to the Senior Choir, taught Sunday School, and actively participated in the Missionary Auxiliary. Charlotte found joy in music of all kinds and loved preparing home-cooked meals for her family, especially during the holidays. She was known for her listening ear, her encouraging spirit, and the wise counsel she offered to all who sought it. She was preceded in this journey by her parents, Earl B. Richards, Sr. and Gladys Richards; husband, Frederick Simms; brother, Earl B. Richards, Jr.; sister, Christine Floyd; daughter, Greta Randall; and son, Robert Randall. She leaves to cherish her memory, brothers, Robert (Donna) Richards, William (Sandy) Richards, Lynwood Richards, and Eugene Richards. She also leaves sons, Richard (Debra), Stephen (Kay), James, and Earl Randall, along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. Her beautiful smile will be missed. Charlotte's legacy of faith, music, and devotion to family and community will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
