Chester "Chet" Yaskolka

Chester "Chet" Yaskolka, 80, of New Britain, beloved husband of Virginia "Ginny" (Lapila) Yaskolka, passed away Saturday (Sept 27, 2025) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. A New Britain native and lifelong resident, he was son of the late Chester Yaskolka and Santina (Rossetti). Chet graduated from E.C. Goodwin Technical School Class of 1963 and was employed in the Shipping & Receiving Department at New Britain General Hospital for several years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of St. Ann Church in New Britain and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Anyone who knew Chet would have nothing but kind words to say about him and he will be greatly missed. Besides his wife Ginny, he leaves two daughters, Amy Barile and her husband Michael of Kensington; and Julie Camacho and her husband David of Kensington; a brother, Richard Yaskolka and his wife Ann of Largo, Florida; 3 sisters, Judith Yaskolka of Southington, Lois Wilcox and her husband Mickey of Litchfield, and Dana Napolitano and her husband Tom of Canton; four grandchildren, Marissa, Gianna, Jake and Jonathan; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Chet was predeceased by a brother, Donald Rossetti. A private funeral mass will take place in the future at St. Ann Church of the St. Joachim Parish in New Britain. There are no calling hours.
